WikMail Stationery Tutorial
WikMail Text Frame "That Black Cat"
This is my first WikMail frame stationery tutorial. I hope it will go some way in helping you get to grips with the new feature of the WikMail Stationery Creator, that allows us to place the text in emails, in a frame.
I won't be able to go into the preparation of the graphic in Paintshop Pro but a little tip recarding half tone effects may be of interest to you.

I started my graphic by filling it with the color in the first square shown above. I then played around with the halftone effect.. "Effects\Artistic Effects\Halftone". When you have this effect opened you just need to keep clicking on the dice in the pop-up until you get a combination that you like. So that is how I arrived at the blue and salmon diagonal stripes in the main graphic below.
I also show above, just for your information, another two results from the same color blue used in the main graphic for this stationery.
Having then arrived at the halftone colors I liked, I selected each of them and made additional rectangles on top of the first background using the two colors.
Now on with the Tutorial
Click on the main graphic below and an actual size graphic will open. Right click on the larger graphic and save as thatblackcat.jpg.
Open Stationery Creator\Sections\Message Area. Now you will delete this later, but just for now, put a 1 in the Message Border width solid for the style and black for the color.
Extra Properties
Now the new section - click on Extra Properties. The first thing you must do here is click in the box beside "Use extra properties" (otherwise nothing will work!!) Now we have to enter the Width 688 and the height 568.
Click on Browse
and open the graphic thatblackcat.jpg. Click on Test and you will see the graphic displayed. At this point the Scroll Bar will not be properly positioned. In order to position the Scroll Bar acurately at the base of the text area it is necessary now to adjust the Margins.
Margins
You will understand the necessity for selecting the 1 pixel border now. Use this line as a marker to position the bars. Look for the black line around the text area. Type 100 in the bottom margin. Now click Test and the bottom Scroll Bar should be posioned well. If not then you adjust the margin and 'Test' each time until it is right. You can now make the Left Margin 165, Top Margin 100 and the Right Margin 99. Now Test , check and adjust if necessary.
Scroll Bars Visibility
You can select here if you want the scroll bars to show always or only when there is enough type to make them show automatically. Try both and see how it looks by clicking on Test.
All that remains in this area is the colors for the Scroll Bars. so just play with the little dropper to find a combination that you are happy with or select the colors I have for this time. To finish in Extra Properties click on Accept.
Message Area
You can now go back to the Message area border and type 0 there. Decide if you require margins for your text in the text area. I chose the settings 10, 20, 20, 20.
Select the Font, Font size and Font color. I chose Comic Sans, size 12 and the color from the borders in the Graphic (yellow/Gold color).
General Section
Now click on General Section and give the Stationery a name. Select the Scroll Bar colors from your graphics or main background. Select a color for your main background or browse to a suitable background tile stored on your computer. On this stationery I simply chose a blue color. Click on File\Save As and save your stationery as normal.
I hope you enjoyed doing this Tutorial and that it has been helpful in getting you started, using the Extra Properties for creating the new Frame stationery, in WikMail Stationery Creator.
